Welcome to the RadOncBlog

In the 21st century, everything is about information and "who controls the message." Information, sometimes, is only as good as the messenger or the medium. For example, if the medium is the popular press, the message might be: "Radiation therapy is fraught with horrendous side effects." If the medium is a non-radiation medicine journal, the message might be: "Radiation therapy is sometimes helpful, but usually a second- or third-line treatment; beware side effects, though." If the medium is a radiation medicine journal, the message might be: "Radiation therapy is best delivered by equipment you can't afford and only the academic centers know how to use."

Somewhere therein lies the truth. The hypothesis of this blog is that the truth is accessible, and if accessed, knowable. Sometime hence, many years from now, I might invite a select group of friends and acquaintances to determine whether or not I proved my hypothesis...at least within the microcosm of knowledge which can be labeled "radiation oncology."

Please ask to be added to my mailing list. I send out periodical emails which augment the postings on this blog. Your feedback, positive and negative, should have the net effect of helping find--you guessed it--the truth.

Like a friend of mine says: onward.
